Pastor Norma Handy
Norma Handy was born in Texas and raised in California.
Norma was born-again on August 14, 1980 and baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1983.
In the mid-1980’s, She began her teaching ministry, teaching preschoolers and was a Missionette leader, ministering and teaching young girls in the Assembly of God church where she attended at the time.
In the late 1980’s my husband and I were part of group of believers that began a new ministry in Mendota, naming it “Emmanuel Outreach”, this ministry is still thriving under the leadership of Pastor Joe Nava. During that time, she was worship leader, and for a time was also the youth group leader and began working and leading in women’s ministry.
In the early 1990’s, Norma joined the Mendota Pentecostal Church and was blessed to have been under the Pastoral ministry of Pastors Holman and then Pastor Renee and Carol Covarrubia. During my many years there, she was part of the worship team, eventually becoming the worship leader, Adult Sunday School teacher and eventually taking the role of
Sunday School Department Superintendent. She served for a time as a credentialed “Exhorter” with the Pentecostal Church of God and began preaching the Word when called upon as well as beginning an Evangelism ministry, ministering in various conferences and churches.
In the mid-1990’s, after meeting Pastors John and Dr. Ann Hill, she became involved with the Women of Love Ministry, serving as Vice-president to Dr. Hill and President of the Mendota Women of Love ministry, leading women’s ministry breakfasts and services, and ministering to many women. Norma is honored and blessed to have had great fruit from that labor for Christ! She was also part of the Women’s Prison ministry team, ministering in the Chapel services and teaching Spanish bible studies.
Through the years, Norma has been honored and blessed to have served in several capacities, including adult bible study teacher and Associate Pastor for Pastor George and Emma Cisneros in the Assembly of God, King’s Way church, later also serving as worship leader and women’s ministry bible study teacher. She continued ministering in conferences and wherever the Lord called her to.
In May of 2022 Norma Handy was ordained and is serving as the Senior Pastor of Holy Ground Ministry of Kerman located in Kerman, California.
Norma has 44 years of ministry experience and is a powerful leader in the Faith Community and her positive attitude and tireless spirit reaches to encourage people to faith in Christ through God’s Word.
Norma is inspired daily by her husband Arturo of 50 years whom she married in 1974, they have 4 daughters, 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren to date.
